In 2010, Mr. Bourassa returned to to LBNL, working full time on the Home Energy Saver (,, development team. Prior to that Mr. Bourassa served the state of California as the Program Manager for the Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) Buildings End-use Energy Efficiency Program at the California Energy Commission.

When Mr. Bourassa first joined LBNL in 2000, he worked in the Commercial Building Systems Group on building commissioning and building simulation energy efficiency research. Prior to his public goods research career, he has five years experience working as an energy engineering consultant in the private sector.

Mr. Bourassa has degrees in Architecture from the University of California Berkeley and Electronics Engineering Technology from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton, Alberta.
